I like the theme that you chose for your unit. The question "What makes a good leader?" is very thought-provoking and there are a myriad possible responses. So many students might have become very engaged in the lesson just by reading they title.
I also like the fact that you differentiated lesson 1 by providing reading materials of varying levels. This way the information was accessible to students who possess different academic abilities.
