The student I worked with is a very good reader, but often makes the mistake of reading to fast and sloppy. I would work with her on slowing down her reading. I would allow her to read a text and recording her when she reads. I would take a running record and then analyze it with her to show her those mistakes she did because of going too fast. I would then encourage her to read again and pace herself by pointing to the words and along the reading to avoid skipping words or predicting what is coming. I would record her again and compare the differences between the readings.
